Pirates
Swollen kindness, stolen mindless
By pirates hid in angel dress
Banished dreams inside my head
Woke vanished screams of living dead
Whose bodies floated out to sea
Saying, praying, they belonged to me
We could be, we would be fine
If sunken ships were there to find
If light could penetrate deep inside
Lift darkness from our burdened minds
Untainted gold could set us free
Save tortured souls that drowned at sea
If sinking ships could sail again
Anchored pledge would numb the pain
If whispered dreams were never sold
And desire salvaged from the cold
Forgotten treasures, hands would claim
Pirates loss - our gain
